Work-Related Programs Offered

Professional Rehabilitation Services, LLC offers industrial consultation and rehabilitation through the nationally renowned WorkWell Systems program. WorkWell Systems is focused on improving workforce availability throughout the entire employment lifecycle. Matching the worker’s physical abilities to those required by the workplace enhances employee productivity and efficiency while the risk for injury is minimized. The principles of workplace and worker evaluation implemented by Professional Rehabilitation Services, LLC are researched for reliability and validity while holding weight in legal matters.

Work Rehabilitation
Work rehabilitation includes post-injury or post-surgical clinical treatment with emphasis on specific musculoskeletal deficits in a work-oriented program. Individual goals and progressive treatment plans are tailored to achieving a quick and safe return to work. Treatment is performed under the prescription of a physician with close communication and updated status of the patient’s progress towards the return-to-work goals.

Functional Job Analysis (FJA)
Certified therapists perform workstation assessment and ergonomic recommendations with objective measures of both physical demands and the frequencies of specific activities performed during a typical work shift. The information gained during this analysis forms the basis for development of a pre-work screen.

Pre-Work Screenings (PWS)
WorkWell’s Pre-Work Screen is a test of a job applicant’s functional ability to safely perform the physical requirements of a specific job. Functional testing may include lifting, force testing, postural tolerances, grip, push and pull, ambulation, climbing, balance abilities, and job simulations. Tests are performed by physical therapists that are trained and certified by WorkWell Systems. PWS allows the employer to make hiring decisions in a legal, fair, and non-discriminatory way in order to promote a more positive relationship between employer and employee.

Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)
Professional Rehabilitation Services, LLC offers a comprehensive objective evaluation of an individual’s ability to perform work-related tasks. A musculoskeletal assessment is first performed in order to identify any possible physical deficits that would limit functional abilities in the workplace. These physical abilities and limitations are then objectively compared to functional findings in order to make a recommendation for return-to-work status and potential. This is a one-on-one evaluation over either one or two days for several hours of intense evaluation in order to stress the physical abilities of the client to a safe maximum. The FCE forms a medical basis for return-to-work decisions by identifying productivity levels and/or modifications of work activities.

Employee Preventative Exercise Programs
Professional Rehabilitation Services, LLC is focused on improving workforce availability throughout the entire employment lifecycle-- by matching the workers' physical abilities to the work that needs to get done—and keeping the worker at work. Assistance and consultation is available for development of an effective job rotation system as well as tailoring of pre-shift warm-up exercises to prevent injury. Formal instruction in ergonomic education and back safety programs through an on-site seminar format is also available.
